The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team advises the community that all solid waste facilities –landfills, transfer stations and convenience centers — territory-wide will be closed as follows during the holidays:
LANDFILLS, TRANSFER STATIONS (TS) and CONVENIENCE CENTERS (CC)
Island – Facility: December 25 – January 1 – January 7
St. Thomas – Bovoni Landfill: Closed – Closed – 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
St. Thomas – Mandahl CC: Closed – Closed – 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
St. John – Susannaberg TS: Closed – Closed – 7 a.m. to noon
St. Croix – St. Croix TS: Closed – Closed – 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
St. Croix — Peter’s Rest CC: Closed – Closed – 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to utilize the VIWMA 24-Hour Hotline at 844-WMA-USVI (844-962-8784) to report solid waste and wastewater related emergencies.
