Virgin Islands National Park Acting Superintendent Darrell Echols has extended the deadline for mariners to remove their storm anchor gear from Hurricane Hole to January 31, 2018.
All gear remaining after January 31 will be removed by the National Park Service unless previous arrangements have been made.
“Given the unprecedented disruptions caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria this year, we are allowing mariners extra time to remove any gear they placed to secure their boats in Hurricane Hole” Echols said. “We are also waiving the requirement to reattach numbered floats to the ground chain at each mooring.”
