UVI Continues to Monitor Tropical Storm Dorian; Information Websites Given

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) continues to monitor all activity associated with Tropical Storm Dorian. According to the National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Dorian is located at 14.2 north and 61.8 west with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour. Its present movement is at 13 miles per hour. There are no watches or warnings in effect for the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Both campuses are reviewing the emergency response plans and beginning preparedness activities as necessary. Information on steps to prepare for inclement weather can be found on UVI’s Emergency Preparedness webpage, which can be found on the bottom of the www.uvi.edu homepage

Information on steps to prepare for inclement weather can be found on UVI’s Emergency Preparedness webpage via this direct link: Emergency Preparedness. All UVI students and employees are encouraged to sign-up for UVI Bucs Alerts emergency messages, which is used to share critical information via text messages and e-mail. Participants can simply add their cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses to the “Personal Information” page in UVI’s BanWeb accounts.
