USVI Alliance for Response Forum Planned for Nov. 27

Alliance for Response

The University of the Virgin Islands’ Reichhold Center for the Arts and the Virgin Islands Caribbean Cultural Center will co-host the USVI Alliance for Response Forum from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, on the St. Thomas Campus of UVI at the Administration and Conference Center. The public is invited. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. There is no fee to attend.

The USVI Alliance for Response Forum will convene the territory’s principal emergency managers and first responders to meet and network with key representatives of U.S.V.I. cultural heritage and arts organizations.

The primary objective of the USVI Alliance for Response Forum will be to lay the foundation for a network of increased understanding and enduring cooperation among the organizational and professional participants. Territorial and national disaster experts, funders and community leaders will relate experiences and share resources to ensure a more effective emergency response to safeguard USVI cultural heritage and arts assets.

The Alliance for Response is a national program established in 2003 as a series of one-day forums designed to link key cultural heritage and emergency response representatives. In over 28 cities and 19 states to-date, Alliance for Response has led to new partnerships and local projects, influenced local planning efforts and enhanced the protection of cultural, historic and arts resources. The U.S. Virgin Islands will be the first U.S. Territory to host an Alliance for Response Forum.
