Three-Acre Peter Bay Parcel, Rumored To Be Owned by Country Music Star, For Sale

The lot were Chesney and Zellweger reportedly were married, has stunning views.

A nearly three-acre parcel in upper Peter Bay, reported to be owned by country music star Kenny Chesney and the site of his 2005 wedding to Academy Award-winning actress Renee Zellweger, is for sale for $11 million.

Grigsby Farm Trust is the documented owner of the parcel, which features sweeping views of Tortola, Jost Van Dyke and St Thomas, and is bordered by the V.I. National Park.

Chesney, who wed Zellweger on St. John in early May 2005, reportedly owns several homes on St. John through a holding company, including properties in lower Peter Bay, Chocolate Hole and Estate Susannaberg.

The upper Peter Bay lot, which contains a torch-lit deck and piano, is rumored to have been the site of the wedding.

Published reports at the time said the couple was married on the beach at Peter Bay—although photographs showed the couple on Denis Bay beach.

Friends who attended the top-secret event reported the wedding reception began at his lower Peter Bay home and later migrated to the upper Peter Bay lot before moving to a Cruz Bay bar.

The couple, who first met at the Jan. 15, 2005, Concert of Hope tsunami telethon, ended their May marriage with an annulment after four months.

The three-acre parcel was purchased from the developers of Peter Bay by Grigsby Farm Trust in late October, 2004, for just under $5 million.

The listing agent would not comment on whether Chesney owns the trust. ChesneyÂ’s publicist, Holly Gleason, said she was unaware he was selling property.

“I don’t know that Kenny Chesney is selling a piece of land,” she said.

Zellweger owns an historic farmhouse on a river-front property in Connecticut and did not want to relocate to ChesneyÂ’s home in Nashville and share his island life on St. John, according to Connecticut sources.
