Wha’s Happ’nin’ by Sis Frank

Cruz Bay “Alive with Sound of Music”
Music at Carmen’s celebration party at Slimman’s — music at the Beach Bar with the Jazz Islanders — music with the Pan Dragons in the Santa Claus parade — music on the ballfield with the Christmas festival — what a weekend! Thanks to Steve and Helen Simon for creating a wonderful combination of visiting artists and top local entertainment.

NPS 50th Anniversary Celebration
The program at the Visitor’s Center was beautifully presented and the gala evening celebration topped off the anniversary with elegance. Thanks to the Friends of the Park for a memorable day.

The young people who performed were outstanding in their presentations — the ribbon-cutting ceremony was just the beginning of a lovely garden that will enhance the area and welcome our visitors.

The film presented by the Friends of the Park at the Caneel Bay gala was an exceptional creation covering the history of the establishment of the V.I. National Park. Bruce Schoonover, Steve Simonsen and William Stelzer did a remarkable job of research and photography. They and their assistants are to be congratulated on their professionalism. This film will be enjoyed by visitors and residents for many years to come.

Congratulations To Andrew Penn Sr.
Our governor-elect, John deJongh, has selected Andrew Penn as an advisor from St. John who will assist in planning operating strategies for his term in office. We approve of governor-elect deJongh’s choice of Andrew, a hard-working businessman who knows what our island needs.
