Virgin Islands National Park to Begin Road Repairs Along North Shore

St. John’s North Shore Road — Easter Rock

Virgin Islands National Park, in cooperation with The Federal Highway Administration Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division, will begin storm damage repair work at three road locations beginning Monday, Oct. 28: a washout along the North Shore Road between Oppenheimer beach and Easter Rock; John Head Road just above the North Shore Road; and near the bottom of Kings Hill.

Work will include excavation and compaction, gabion basket installation, the removal of old asphalt and the installation of new asphalt.

Work will typically be performed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is expected to be completed by early January 2020.

Road closures are not anticipated. Flaggers, traffic control signals and signs will be used.

Please exercise caution when driving near these construction areas, and help the V.I. National Park keep the road crews safe.
