V.I. Fire Service to Host Christmas Parties on St. John, St. Thomas

The Virgin Islands Fire Service (VIFS) will be bringing Christmas cheer to residents in the St. Thomas-St. John District this weekend with three holiday parties.

On Friday, Dec. 20, VIFS, in conjunction with the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation (DSPR), will host a children’s party on St. John from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at DSPR’s youth center in Cruz Bay. There will be food and gifts for children in grades K-6.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, a second children’s party will be held on St. Thomas from 3-6 p.m., at the Omar Brown Sr. Fire Station (across from Barbel Plaza). There will be bouncers, games, giveaways, performances by mocko jumbies and majorettes, and appearances by Santa Claus, Smokey and Sparkey. The first 100 children will receive a free gift (ages infant to 12 years).

On Sunday, Dec. 22, the annual VIFS Holiday Party will make its return. The party, which will include entertainment from Cool Session Brass, DJ Adonis, and DJ LS1, will be held from 6 p.m. until, at the Robert O’Connor Sr. Fire Station parking lot in Cruz Bay, St. John. Food and drinks will be available.
