The U.S. Virgin Islands Under 17 Women Soccer team

The U.S. Virgin Islands Under 17 Women Soccer team started the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) 2019 U17 Women Qualifying Tournament in Barbados on Aug. 21, playing against St. Kitts and Nevis. The final score was 10 goals for St. Kitts and Nevis and zero goals for USVI. The other two teams in the USVI Group, Belize and Barbados, played in the second game of opening day, finishing with a 1-1 draw.

After a rest day on Thursday, the young women from the V.I. were back on the Soccer Pitch at Widley Astro Turf Stadium, playing Belize at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23. The USVI Lady Eagles gave a valent effort but lost the game in a 5-goal shut out. They will finish their qualifying group stage games on Sunday, Aug. 25, playing Barbados at 5:30 p.m.

During the qualifying stage, the winner of each group, will advance to the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship.
