Monday, March 25

Agenda:
The committee will receive testimony on the status of the upcoming 2019 Virgin Islands Carnival.

Tuesday, March 26
9 a.m.
Committee on Youth, Sports, Parks and Recreation
Earle B. Ottley, Legislative Hall, St. Thomas
Agenda:
The committee will receive testimony and an update on the status of various government agencies as well as non-governmental.
BLOCK I
Gary Molloy, commissioner nominee, Department of Labor, will provide an overall status of funding for summer employment for the youth as well as the allocation of funding awards towards youth apprenticeship and incentive programs.
BLOCK II
Calvert White, acting commissioner of the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation, will provide an overview of the status of the parks as it pertains to repairs and the conditions, as well as the condition of the sports and recreation facilities. Additionally, he will be providing an update on staffing and funding needs.
LUNCH: 12:30-1:30 p.m.
BLOCK III
The testifiers will provide an overall status on horse racing and the race tracks as well as a progress report on the status of any agreements that may have an impact on the horse racing sport.
