Third Annual St. John Blues Blowout Rocks Susannaberg Ruins

By St. John Tradewinds

A stunning venue among the sugar mill ruins in Estate Susannaberg combined with world class Blues music to create one magical night — amid one exciting weekend — on St. John March 25 – 27.

The third annual St. John Blues Festival, hosted by St. John Blues Society founders Ronnie Klingsberg and Ian Samuel, kicked off with a concert by Butter and special guests in Frank Powell Park in Cruz Bay on Friday night, March 25. The fun moved up to Susannaberg for the big Saturday night show which featured Albert Castiglia, Sean Chambers, Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones, and the amazing Deanna Bogart. Blues fans packed the venue and danced until the last note drifted off into the distance.

On Sunday morning, however, the Blues fanatics were back at it once again. This time the party was at Virgin Fire’s Blues Brunch which featured special music guests all after-noon.
