St. Croix-based hip hop artists Kapo Di’kaprio and Zeeno Da Boss’s featured a track on a compilation album that debuted on the Billboard Chart at no 24 in February; an accomplishment most musicians only dream of. https://www.billboard.com/music/various-artists/chart-history/CMP
Their track “Talkin Bout” was a part of the compilation album “World Hip Hop Unleashed Vol. 2.” According to a release from promoter Stand Up Muzic, the track was also produced by Virgin Island’s Producer D’jon Baptiste, making it entirely a USVI production. They say “World Hip Hop Unleashed Vol. 2’s” charting culminates what they call “a massive surge for Kapo and Zeeno who have been on an upward swing since signing a distribution deal with Universal Music Distribution at the end of 2018.”
Reportedly, in 2019 Kapo Di’kaprio was also a part of a major project headed by Africa’s Super Producer Brainy Beatz who has done production for some of Africa’s artists. The song entitled “Mary Jane” continues to do well overseas, according to Stand Up Muzic.
