St. John Singers to Perform on April 7

The St. John Singers, now in its 35th year, will hold a spring concert on Friday, April 7th at 7:30 pm at the Bethany Moravian Church.

The program includes several spirituals, classical works (Mozart, Dvorâk, Caccini), a composition by a Virgin Islander, and a set of folk songs from Ireland, South Africa, and Australia.

Guest artists will be the Sound Tapestry Singers, an auditioned ensemble of a dozen voices co-directed by Dr. Lawrence Benjamin and Janice Ballard. The ensemble will also combine with the St. John Singers to perform three choral pieces.

The performers will be accompanied on piano by J. Scott Coates of Asheville, NC.  This will be Coates’s third time to serve as accompanist for St. John Singers’ concerts.

Tickets are $20 and children are admitted for free.
