St. John Resident Urges Senate Support of Spampinato

Dear Senators:

I am a retired teacher with 30 years of experience in a dysfunctional school district in the states with bureaucracy and administrative level problems similar to those in the V.I. I support Dr. Spampinato’s goals, and her openness to collaboration. I support Governor deJongh’s choice because he has supported St. John, and listened to us! I hope Senator Hill will continue to take the same interest in education that he succinctly identified and summarized in a previous article in the St. John Tradewinds.

I am sending this to you as a group request, but I hope you will follow the mandate of the people who want change in our schools, and not do what your “conscience” tells you to do, but what the public which elected you to represent them would like you to do in their stead.

Sincerely,
Judith Kane

Editor’s Note: The 27th Legislature voted not to approve Governor John deJongh’s appointment for V.I. Department of Education Commissioner, Dr. Lynn Spampinato, on Thursday, October 18 (see press release page 23).
