SJSOGH 4th Graders Thank Everyone

Tradewinds,
I wanted to take this opportunity to say “Thank you” to everyone who gave so generously to the fourth grade class from The St. John School on Gifft Hill. Our fund raiser last Saturday (March 4) was a very big success because of the benevolence of the people on St. John.

The class had some notably generous benefactors that I would like to thank publicly. Cid and all the employees from Connections for allowing us to use the space in front of their business, Lisa from Book and Bean for donating an enormous number of books, Jake Pickerell who contributed numerous plants, Steve Simon who pledged to pay for one student to go on our trip, Julie from Verace who gave a remarkably generous donation, Kimberly from Joe’s Diner who gave us bags and hamburger buns when we ran out, Eileen who made fresh salsa (YUM by the way!), Jasmine who made a mountain of Johnny Cakes (another HUGE YUM!), Jen Doran who not only donated all the hotdogs and hamburgers, but also stood over the hot grill all day long cooking them, Jaime Elliot for the wonderful article in the Tradewinds, and of course, last but certainly not least, all the parents and students, who not only donated all the items we sold, but spent their entire Saturday setting up, selling, and cleaning up our space. I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone. Everyone was so important and I can’t thank you enough.

Finally, I would like to thank all the people who purchased items from us or donated money to our cause. This was our first fundraiser, but it certainly won’t be our last. We hope to have another sale next month, so please look for our fliers! Until then, thank you again to everyone involved in our fundraiser!
