Like many other local government agencies, the Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDOE) is closely following the guidelines of the V.I. Department of Health in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to reduce the further spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in the community.

Because the health and safety of its employees are of top priority, Commissioner Racquel Berry-Benjamin advises the public that effective Wednesday, April 1, all in-person interactions at the Department’s state and district offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix are postponed until further notice. While offices will remain open, all business will be conducted electronically via email or by telephone, whenever possible.

To contact DOE’s main offices, call 774-0100 on St. Thomas or 773-1095 on St. Croix. General questions about Department operations may be emailed to public.relations@vide.vi.

For more information on COVID-19, the new strain of coronavirus, visit the USVI Department of Health’s website: www.doh.vi.gov/coronavirus or text COVID19USVI to 888777. For non-medical information, call 715-6843 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., 7 days per week. #COVID19USVI
