Pistarckle Theater in Tillett Gardens will stage the classic dark three-act comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace,” the second play of its 2018-19 season.

The setting is Brooklyn 1941 in an old house next to a cemetery. According to director Frank Bartolucci, “The play is about two sweet ladies who are poisoning elderly men as their charity of good will. It was written over 75 years ago, but is still as entertaining today because of the structure. Act I sets up the story; Act II creates the conflict; and Act III resolves the conflict.”

The 13-member cast features island residents: Jennifer Arellano, Robert Leonard, Kellie Meyer, Caroline Emch-Wei, Jessica DeFrancesco, Matthew Hamilton-Kraft, Ryan Firment, Matthew Enright, Jami Pfister, Christina Harper, Alena Hernandez, Sabrina G. Lettsome and Robert Kunkel.

Performances will run from Nov. 16 to Dec. 1, with 8 p.m. evening shows and with 2 p.m. matinees. Tickets are available online or at the Box Office and cost $25 to $40. Find details at www.pistarckletheater.com or call 775-7877.
