Partly Cloudy, Brief Showers Wednesday, Then Fair and Breezy

Skies will become partly cloudy to mostly sunny by late morning. While a few showers are expected from time to time this afternoon, mostly fair weather skies with breezy conditions are forecast on Thursday and Friday.

Hazardous marine conditions will persist for the next few days due to breezy conditions caused by a strengthening area of high pressure over the central Atlantic. Small craft advisories are in effect for the local waters through the end of the week. Mariners can expect winds to 20 knots (23 miles per hour) with high gusts and wind-driven seas of between five to eight feet, and up to ten feet at times.

There is a high risk of rip currents for Cramer’s Park on St. Croix, and a moderate risk of rip currents elsewhere across the territory.
