CRUZ BAY, ST. JOHN — Start the holiday season with a special shopping event that could make you the proud winner of one of two $500 shopping sprees! Mongoose Junction’s annual “Evening in the Courtyard” will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm and is packed with special events for an evening of fun and shopping.
It is a great opportunity to do your Christmas shopping at St. John’s premier shopping and dining destination. For every purchase at any Mongoose retailer or restaurant that evening you will received a raffle ticket to win one of the shopping sprees. The more you shop, the more tickets you receive, the greater your chance to win the drawing.
The drawing will be held shortly after 9:00pm and you must be present to win — easy to do since there is so much to see. All stops have been pulled out to make this the best Evening in the Courtyard ever.
The yearly colorful and dynamic Bamboula Fashion Show will start at 6:00 in the main courtyard of Mongoose Junction and there will be a bevy of fabulous in-store sales and discounts! Bajo el Sol Gallery will be serving locally made Artisanal Christmas Treats and a free Aimee Trayser print with the purchase of $150 or more; the Brewtique will offer a free St. John Brewers Pint Glass with every purchase of $25 or more; the Friends of the Park Store will be hosting a book signing by local author Mario Picayo, author of numerous children’s books and will also feature a special package of a National Park messenger bag containing two great videos and a trail map – all for just $10.00, usually $64.00.
Island Fancy is offering 10% off for totals of $25.00 or more; Portico is offering a Message in a Bottle drawing for a chance to win up to 50% off your purchase; R&I PATTON goldsmithing is hosting an Estate Sale, featuring silver tableware, jewelry, vintage watches and porcelains; Caravan Gallery is offering a glass of bubbly as you shop, and a “special wall of special sale items”; Sugarbirds has a surprise gift with any $25 purchase or more; Trevor’s Activity Center will offer 10% off any boat trip booked during the event and the St. John Experience Gallery, the newest store at Mongoose Junction, will be offering 20% – 30% off select items.
In addition to the wonderful offerings of the shops, there will also be Food and Drink Specials to complete your night of fun. Sun Dog Cafe is celebrating its 20th anniversary and will offer 20% off all adult beverages from 5pm to 9pm; The Tap Room will offer Happy Hour drink prices all night; Ocean Grill will be offering a special on Prosecco – $6.00 by the glass or $25.00 for a bottle; Viva Cantina is offering $5 fresh squeezed premium Margaritas and $3 Coronas from 5 to 9 pm, and St. John Scoops will be offering a free homemade waffle cone or topping with the purchase of an ice cream.
Last but certainly not least, the winner of the “Glen Speer Visionary Award” will be announced. Started in 2013 by the Mongoose Junction Merchants Association, this award recognizes a member of the St. John community for their contribution to the aesthetic visual appeal or to the equality of life on the island.
