Hendricks Arrested for Hitting Man with Steel Bat

V.I. Police Department officials on St. John arrested 25-year-old Kamal Hendricks at about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, and charged him with Third Degree Assault for hitting a 24-year-old St. John man in his upper back with a steel bat.

According to the police report, the victim was working at his place of employment, which is a welding shop located in Estate Contant Enighed, when Hendricks and another man pulled up in a truck.

Hendricks got out of the vehicle with the bat in his hand, approached the victim from behind and hit him with the bat on his upper back. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect fled in the vehicle.

The victims’ back was cut and swollen. He was transported by private vehicle to the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center for treatment.
Bail for Hendricks was set at $25,000 by order of the court and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
