Gifft Hill School is excited to announce that they will be collaborating with Virgin Islands Good Food Coalition to host the 2nd Annual Food Learn event in partnership with Ridge to Reef Farm and the United States Virgin Islands Department of Tourism as part of Dine VI.
Food Learn provides a unique opportunity for youth, educators and community stakeholders to be exposed to the processes that are key to getting food on their plates. The event merges principles from the seed to plate experience and the slowdown movement to offer participants the opportunity to be submerged in the culture of local food. This year we have the privilege of hosting this event territorially.
There are 20 seats that have been pre-selected for youth participation and 40 seats available for community stakeholders for $45.00 per ticket.
Gifft Hill School’s own Chef Lori Dudkin will be collaborating with award-winning guest Chef Digby Stridiron on this event. Chef Stridiron, recently named Culinary Ambassador of the Virgin Islands, is well-known on St. Croix for his innovative and eclectic approach to food with an emphasis on farm-to-table philosophy. Chef Stridiron currently serves as owner and Executive Chef at balter St.Croix . We hope you join Gifft Hill School for this exciting event!
