Gemess Janet LaVann, known as Janet Lavann, age 74, of Frederiksted died on Wednesday, July 17, in Tampa, Fla.
She is survived by her two children: Althea Byam Benjamin and Lyndon Simon; grandchildren: Ashton Benjamin, Symone Simon, Ebony Simon, Shirema Simon, Emani Simon, Lyndon Simon Jr., Karen Firth and Tiwanna Simon; great-grandchildren: Curtis Reeves, Kehlani Reeves, Acacia Simon, Leshae Simon, Jaylyn Simon, Jayden Simon, Malique Charles and Carniyah Jackson; siblings: Eustace Glanville and Jane Meade; son-in-law, Fergus Benjamin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Whyte; brother-in-law, Alphonso Meade; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
