Friends of VI National Park Invites Public to Annual Meeting on March 7

Friends of VI National Park (www.friendsvinp.org) will hold its annual meeting at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7. at the Annaberg Plantation Ruins in Virgin Islands National Park. Come hear what the Friends of VI National Park has accomplished and its plans for the upcoming year to protect, preserve and connect within the park. All Friends members and the public are invited and welcome.

The meeting will include an annual report from Friends of the Park President Todd Sampsell, a ‘State of the Park Address’ from VINP Park Superintendent Nigel Fields, and a keynote address from St. John Administrator Shikima L. Jones Sprauve. Following the meeting, guests are encouraged to tour the ruins where cultural demonstrators will perform. Light refreshments will be served.

All those attending the meeting are strongly encouraged to use taxis, shuttles and/or carpools, as parking at Annaberg is limited. Parking is not permitted along the road sides or in the taxi drop off area.

Friends is providing shuttle service from the Lumberyard parking lot in Cruz Bay. Shuttles will depart at 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. from Lumberyard; return departure is scheduled from Annaberg for 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. A shuttle will pick up at Coral Bay triangle at 10:15 a.m. with return departure from Annaberg at 1:15 p.m. For more information, visit www.friendsvinp.org or call 779-4940.
