Friends of Virgin Islands National Park will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, at Trunk Bay.

The keynote speaker will be Bob Vogle, regional director of National Park Service’s Southeast Region. Come hear what the Friends of V.I. National Park (VINP) has accomplished and about its plans for the upcoming year to protect, preserve and educate within the park.

The meeting will also include an annual report from Joe Kessler, outgoing president of Friends of the Park and an introduction to Todd Sampsell, the new incoming president. VINP Superintendent Nigel Fields will deliver a State of the Park Address. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting.

A free shuttle service will be available from the National Park Service maintenance parking lot (just past Mongoose Junction — please do not park at Mongoose Junction while attending this meeting) at 1:30 p.m. that day, and it will return after the meeting. All those attending are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the shuttles as parking at Trunk Bay is very limited.

All Friends members and the public are invited and welcome to attend. For more information, email info@friendsvinp.org or call 779-4940.
