Dec. 8: Coral Bay Bizarre Bazaar

December 8, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Coral Bay Bizarre Bazaar is the largest holiday shopping event in Coral Bay and an important fundraiser for the Coral Bay Community Council (CBCC). This one-day-only event will happen from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, and will feature local vendors, live entertainment, a silent auction, a 50-50 raffle, food and drink service, donkey rides and Santa Claus.

This is the bazaar’s sixth annual year. It will focus on showcasing and supporting local Virgin Islands businesses, so come out to the Bizarre Bazaar and show support for Love City. Proceeds from the bazaar will benefit the CBCC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has played a major role in Coral Bay recovery after hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The event is held at Pickles in Paradise in Coral Bay, located on Route 107, just south of the Triangle where Centerline Road intersects with Route 107.

Holiday shopping: Knock those names off the holiday shopping list at the Bizarre Bazaar. Find a variety of locally-made goods, handcrafted jewelry, original artwork and one-of-a-kind island gifts at the holiday market.

Attractions: Besides shopping, the 2018 Bizarre Bazaar will have live entertainment, including live music and variety acts on the stage at Pickles as well as a 50-50 raffle, donkey rides courtesy of Carolina Corral, food and drink service from local St. John restaurants and private chefs, a silent auction with the chance to win thousands in prizes, and, of course, a visit from Santa with toys for the kids.

Vendors and Artists: Vendors who want to sell their goods at one of Coral Bay’s most popular holiday events can sign up to be a vendor at the 2018 Bizarre Bazaar. It costs $40 to reserve a space under one of the main tents or $100 for a 10 x 10 space in the yard. Registration runs Nov. 1 to Dec. 1; contact: CBCCBizarreBazaar@gmail.com.

VOLUNTEERS (ENTERTAINMENT & EVENT STAFF): Help Coral Bay by volunteering your time at this annual CBCC fundraiser. If you can sing, dance, juggle, tell jokes, are in a band or just like to entertain please volunteer to join the stage! Or if you are available to help set-up, volunteer during the event, or clean up after the Bizarre Bazaar please reach out to our volunteer coordinator at CBCCBizarreBzazzr@gmail.com and use your talents to help a great island cause!

DONATIONS: Bizarre Bazaar is currently seeking donations for both the silent auction and the toy giveaway by Santa. Please support this local event if you can by donating an item or service to be auctioned off during the silent auction, the proceeds of which will go to supporting the CBCC. We’re also looking for toy donations for Santa’s toy drive, which will be passed out by Santa to the kids of St. John at the Bizarre Bazaar.

CORAL BAY COMMUNITY COUNCIL
The Coral Bay Community Council (CBCC) hosts the annual Bizarre Bazaar, and proceeds from the event help support this community organization and fund its programs. Established in 2003 CBCC has been helping the Coral Bay community for over a decade, becoming especially integral in post-hurricane response and the rebuilding effort this past year. In addition to post-storm work the CBCC also helps assure that the Coral Bay community has safe drinking water, clean beaches and bay waters, cultural and environmental protections, and land-use development accountability.
