Dr. Daniel Joshua Collinson Passes Away

Daniel Joshua Collinson, M.D. formerly of Locust, N.J., St. John and Savannah, Georgia, fell asleep into death March 13 at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Dr. Collinson was born in Newark, N.J. November 19, 1921 to Sarah Ewing and Daniel Heald Collinson. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen Cremeans; daughter Dona; sisters, Jean, Babe and Elsie and brother, William.

He is survived by his daughters, Dana Collinson and Helen Truslow; sons, Daniel Joshua and John; and grandchildren Lisa Kaufmann and Jenna Madison; Will, Samuel, Emily and Augustus Truslow; Daniel Joshua and Christopher Collinson; and Corinne and Kimberley Collinson. He is also survived by a cherished friend, Peggy Fisher.

Collinson graduated from Bucknell University and Jefferson Medical College. He served as a captain in the Army Medical Corps during WW II. He established the practice of Urology Associates and was Chief of Urology and Vice President of Medical Staff at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, N.J.

He will be remembered as a dedicated, generous and caring physician, father, grandfather and friend.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time. Contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Heartland Hospice, 5040 Corporate Woods Dr., #150, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. We gratefully acknowledge their extraordinary care.
