DPNR Working To Control Boat Landings on Cruz Bay Beach

Two DPNR  officers were on Cruz Bay beach in early March speaking with boaters arriving by dinghies on the beach in front of the Grande Bay Resort to inform them that the landing area for small boats is at the far end of the beach by the Cruz Bay Cemetery.

The officers issued no citations and discussions with boaters were cordial.

“This is just informational,” one officer told Tradewinds.

DPNR officials will meet with owners of businesses which use the beach for commercial purposes to discuss operations in the partially-marked swimming area, according to one officer.
