Department of Health to Host Health and Preparedness Fair

Virgin Islands Department of Health

The V.I. Department of Health (DOH) will host a Health and Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Franklin Powell Sr. Park in Cruz Bay, St. John, according to a press release issued Monday by DOH.

Staff from the Department of Health’s programs — such as Maternal Child and Health, WIC, Chronic Disease, Behavioral Health Alcoholism and Drug Dependency, Communicable Diseases, Vector Control and Community Health — will be there to promote general health by providing presentations and educational materials. Health screenings will be available as well. Also, in attendance will be VITEMA, Love City Strong and the DOH’s Disaster Preparedness team.

The goal of the fair is to foster health promotion and prevention awareness for students, families and community members so that they may achieve their highest level of wellness. There will be prizes and giveaways and music by DJ Kuntry. This event is open to the public. All are encouraged to come and spend the day at the fair.
