Virgin Islands Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen congratulated Senator Barack Obama and his supporters last week on his wrapping up the Democratic Presidential nomination.
“Now that the primaries are over, and Senator Obama has secured the required number of delegates for the nomination, I will be fully on board, supporting him and the Democratic ticket as we face Senator John McCain and the Republicans going forward,” said Congresswoman Christensen.
“I have always said that I would fully support the party’s nominee and that I would work hard to ensure a Democratic victory,” Christensen said. “While there has been no formal concession speech from Senator Clinton, I think it is important for her to bring her campaign leadership and family together before she makes any formal announcement going forward.”
“It has been a privilege to work with her, and I look forward to continuing to work with the Senator from New York, all her supporters and all Democrats for a Democratic victory in November, and to make sure that the issues and concerns of Virgin Islanders are fully a part of the agenda of the next president and Congress,” said the delegate to Congress.
