Connections’ Mary Pat Brown Recovering after Auto Accident

Donations are being accepted to assist Mary Pat Brown, who is recovering after a serious auto accident last Friday evening.

Brown, who is the office manager of Connections in Cruz Bay, had been planning to meet with Cid Hamling, the owner of Connections, to go to dinner with friends.  When Brown failed to arrive, Hamling went to look for her.

A repeating alarm from Brown’s car led Hamling to the accident site.  Brown’s car apparently went off the road near the Gifft Hill School on Route 104 and crashed onto Trayser Field.  Brown was conscious when she was found.

After receiving assistance from St. John Rescue and VI Emergency Medical Services staff, Brown was taken aboard the Liston “Huntie” Sprauve ambulance boat and transported to Roy Lester Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas. She is being treated for a broken clavicle, multiple rib fractures, and other injuries.

Hamling said that those who wish to assist Brown can leave a check at Connections made out to the St. John Revolving Fund and write “Mary Pat Brown” on the memo line. Donations to the Revolving Fund are tax deductible.
