Claudia Valderia Willocks Dies at 95

Claudia Valderia Willocks

Claudia Valderia Willocks, also known as “Claudie,” “Mother” and “Neni Claudia,” of Union, Mt. Washington died on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the age of 95.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ebenezer Willocks; daughter, Sheryl Willocks; sons: Ebenezer Willocks Jr. and Gregory Willocks; sister, Eileen Hector; and brothers: Waldo and Selvyn Ritzberg.

She is survived by her daughters: Victorine W. Farrelly, Carol Ann Ramsingh-England and Lorraine W. Motta; stepdaughter, Felina Seales; sons: Lucien, Selvyn and Harold W. L. Willocks; stepson, Regan Willocks; adopted son: Harold Roebuck and Elroy Roberts Sr.; and grandchildren: Claudia Willocks, Judy Staley, Lucinda Callahan, Diane Miller, Julio Navarro-Farrelly, Robert, Russell and Rick Ramsingh, Tricia Y. Motta, Leah A. Motta-Lewis, Lawrence E. C. Motta III., Taliman, Jason, Letanya Ebeni, Kenya and Ebenezer Willocks, Gregoreese Gonzalez, Tyhea Willocks, Lae-Thea Najdanovic, Gregoria, Geatius and Gregory Willocks Jr., Selvyn Jr. and Kadeem Willocks, Kamil Francois, Saida and Harold A. Willocks.

She is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great- grandchildren; sisters: Winifred Canton, Myrtle Clarke, Rhenita DeSola, Alvilda Branch, Roselyn Galloway, Yvonne Huntt-Liburd, Leatrice Harris and Dorabelle Davila; 23 nieces and 19 nephews; son-in-law, Vincil England; daughters-in-law: Cele, Kay, Yvette and Ananka Willocks; former daughter-in-law and friend, Cheryl Willocks; brothers-in-law: Berris Clarke, Ernest Galloway, Donald Liburd Sr. and Delroy Harris; and sister-in-law, Mercedes Ritzberg.

Other survivors include godchildren: Yvonne Huntt-Liburd, Paulette Krauser, Cleone Cornelius and Robert Ramsingh; cousins, other relatives friends to include: Sherman “Butch” Brannigan, Gary Mercado, Farrell and Smith families, Women of The Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELCA) and The Richmond Senior Center, Josephine Hector, Laureleen Knight, Ms. Chapman, Fremont Canton, Ray Sewer and family Errol Cromwell and Beryl Sargeant; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and the funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery (Veterans Section).
