Christmas in Luxurious Style

The 133-meter motor yacht Al Mirqab was spotted in Cruz Bay over the Christmas weekend.

Al Mirqab was built in 2008 by Peters Schiffbau in Wewelsfleth. The yacht’s unmistakable exterior was designed by Tim Heywood with interior design by Andrew Winch Designs.

The massive motor yacht was built for Middle Eastern Royalty and is one of the largest and most beautiful yachts on the water, according to www.superyachts.com.

Al Mirqab won the coveted “Motor Yacht of the Year” award at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards and won “Best Interior Design” in the motor yacht category for her Andrew Winch-designed interior.

Al Mirqab has an aluminium superstructure and a steel hull with a beam of 19.5-meters and a 4.9-meter draft. She can accommodate up to 60 guests and is capable of carrying up to 60 crew members onboard, according to www.superyachts.com.

The 133-meter displacement yacht is capable of  hitting 23 knots flat out, with a cruising speed of 21 knots. Al Mirqab also features “at anchor stabilizers” which work at zero speed, significantly increasing onboard comfort at anchor and on rough waters, according to the Superyacht website.
