BVI Closes All Ports for Two Weeks

Since Sunday, all seaports and airports in the British Virgin Islands have been closed to all inbound passengers through, April 6, except for pre-authorized traffic, according to a BVI government release.

The restriction does not apply to freight, cargo or courier craft or vessels. International crew members on incoming vessels will be required to remain within the port facility and comply with all public health measures in effect.

The BVI is also prohibiting all “nonessential” gatherings with 20 or more people, until April 17.

It is also instituting a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until April 17.
