Board of Education Celebrates American Education Week

In commemoration of 2019 American Education Week, the 19th Virgin Islands Board of Education expresses its sincere thanks to all Virgin Islands education professionals for all they do for the children. The board especially acknowledges Zahra O’reilly Bates, the 2019 Teacher of the Year for the St. Croix District and Michaelrose Ravalier, Teacher of the Year in the St. Thomas-St. John District.

The Board of Education encourages V.I. students and education professionals who wish to pursue higher education to apply for financial assistance during the upcoming scholarship application period that will begin in January 2020. Stay tuned for notices on local radio stations and in the local newspapers.

The board also urges the public to become involved with students in a positive way. Be a part of the solution and help children grow into productive members of the Virgin Islands community. The theme of American Education Week is Reach, Educate and Inspire!
