Letter to the Editor,
I wanted to thank Peter Alter and the Friends of the National Park on behalf of myself and all of the participants in the recent Beach-to-Beach Power Swim for all the hard work putting the event together. The effort spent coordinating volunteers, gathering kayaks and equipment, marking the routes and making sure everyone had a safe and fun experience was greatly appreciated. With the three warm-up events and then the Power Swim itself, Peter and the Friends volunteers have devoted a lot of time in the past month. As a result, the Sunday swim was organized and enthusiastic. The Power Swim is becoming a well-known event here and on surrounding islands, raising funds for our park while also providing an opportunity for folks to enjoy it and each other. Thanks again, guys we look forward to next year.
