The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) advises the public to arrive at least two and a half to three hours earlier for flights departing from the Cyril E. King Airport Terminal on St. Thomas. Entrance to the terminal may be delayed during the high-traffic hours of 1:30 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. due to a malfunctioning ticket spitter.

A parking lot attendant will be stationed at the terminal’s entrance daily during high traffic hours to manually distribute parking tickets until a new ticket spitter is installed.

The sole vendor for parking lot equipment in the Caribbean is based in Puerto Rico, which also sustained significant damages from the hurricanes in September 2017. This has caused a shortage in parking lot equipment; however, the sole supplier has assured VIPA that the equipment will be shipped to the King Airport as soon as it is available.

A notice will be issued when the new ticket spitter is installed.
