The Virgin Islands Port Authority welcomes the Celebrity Equinox cruise ship at the Austin “Babe” Monsanto Marine Terminal today, Monday, July 22. The Equinox made an unscheduled call to St. Thomas and arrived at 4 p.m. having been diverted from another port.
The ship will depart at 1 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, July 23. The Port Authority immediately notified the shop owners, vendors and taxi association at Crown Bay Center. It also contacted the V.I. Police Department and the V.I. Department of Tourism to make special accommodations for the overnight ship.
The Equinox has a capacity of 2,850 passengers and approximately 1,250 crew members.
