AKA Sorority to Honor Elders at 24th Kwanzaa Celebration

Sigma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will host its 24th Annual Community Kwanzaa Celebration at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, at Franklin Powell Park in Cruz Bay, St. John.

The public is cordially invited to join sorority members as they celebrate Kwanzaa. AKA will honor Delroy “Ital” Anthony, local culture bearer; Theodora Moorehead, community activist; and Elaine Penn of the Love City Pan Dragons for their exemplifying the Kwanzaa principles.

“This year’s celebration will be festive and fun and will feature favorites such as the Mungo Niles Cultural Dancers and the Love City Pan Dragons. Also participating this year are the Dynamic Dancers and oboist Nancy Liburd, said Lucille Parsons, president.

Everyone is encouraged to dress in their best African wear.
